School Visits to Bath City Farm
An unforgettable school visit for your class
Our school visits run through all seasons, and with 37 acres of land bursting with over 1000 species, there is always something new to learn! We are able to offer hands-on sessions for Early Years, and Key Stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
School visits are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What Is there to Explore?
All packages include:
- The guidance of a member/s of our experienced team.
- Hands-on experiences.

EYFS
Visit the Farm and give the animals their breakfast, collect the eggs, do some gardening or crafts, play in the mud kitchen, hunt for bugs and sing songs.

Who eats what?!
Key Stage 1
A fun filled morning at the Farm finding out about what the different animals eat. Learn about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and then guess what each animal eats on a tour to give the animals their breakfast!

Habitats and survival
Key Stage 1/2
Explore some of the 37 acres of grassland, woodland, and ponds on the Farm. Discover the many different species that live our land from the tiny minibeasts to the farm animals. Children will explore one habitat and will then have an animal tour to learn how we care for the farm animals.

Join us for a morning visiting the polytunnels, cafe gardens and compost bays. Explore the huge variety of plants and wildflowers on the site.

We are seeking schools to work with us to develop these sessions. Please contact us if you are interested in working with us and bringing your students to investigate the wider farm site. This would be ideal for GCSE or A-LEVEL fieldwork..

Chicks in the classroom
Incubator Hire
£200
Caring for eggs and raising chicks is an unforgettable experience, filled with opportunities for children to learn about the science of life cycles, the responsibility of caring for a living creature and of course… patience!
Hatching chicks takes around 21 days from the moment they go into the incubator. The process can be hands-on and involved as you would like it to be; you can let the incubator do it’s work automatically, or your class can have the responsibility of turning the eggs by hand 3 times a day, just like a mother hen would!
A member of the farm team will be by your side at every step:

Now taking bookings for Spring and Summer 2025 for incubator hire. Please be aware that the package books up quickly and we are only able to run a limited number of hatchings per year.

School Visits are available every Tuesday throughout the year.
Price
2 hour session £8 per child Minimum price of £150
Timing
The guided session lasts 2 hours. Your group will then have time to eat lunch in our outdoor picnic shelter and explore our play park.
