As you may have seen from recent news reports, the bluetongue virus has now been detected in parts of the UK. Bluetongue is spread by biting midges. It affects ruminants (such as cattle, sheep, goats, and deer) and camelids (such as alpacas and llamas), but does not pose any risk to humans. You can find out more here.
As a result, our Farm is currently within a restricted zone. At the moment, all our much-loved animals are well. We’re taking all necessary precautions, closely monitoring their wellbeing, and in regular contact with veterinary authorities. Following government guidelines, the restricted zone will affect our processes behind moving animals off-site or bringing new additions in for the time being. However, our day-to-day operations and visits remain unaffected.
We’ll keep you updated if anything changes. For now, please consider donating to our crowdfunder to help us continue our vital work. You can also join us at Bath City Farm Fest on Saturday 5 July. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team if you have any questions.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
