Cultivating Connections: The Art Of Ecological Gardening with Sid Hill

In this course, we will explore how ecological understanding can change the way gardeners interact with plants and the land. We will be focused on practical and creative ecological gardening. Taking inspiration from rewilding, ecological horticulture and conservation management to tend gardens over time, while working towards our goals. How can the gardener be an ecosystem engineer and create ecological diversity, beauty and produce?

Sid Hill is an ecological designer and gardener based in Totnes, Devon whose passion is to create landscapes and plantings that echo wild plant communities, meadows, woodlands and wetlands, whilst producing food, restoring environments and improving peoples lives. He grew up on a permaculture farm and has been a keen gardener since childhood. He recently won a ‘Gold’ medal at the Chelsea Flower Show.
