The Endangered craft series – making corn dolls

Bath City Farm are delighted to have Tidal Tales with us as the bring their Endangered Craft Series to the farm.

Each workshop will be facilitated by 2 experienced practitioners and all materials* will be included. We will explore the history behind the crafts. Share stories and sing songs in keeping with how they would have weaved together in times gone by.

Corn Dolly making: Here we will use recycled raffia and straws to learn some of the simple weaving techniques of this beautiful craft.

Suitable for 6+

We hope you agree that these interactive workshops will shine a light on this beautiful tradition in a fun and exciting way that might spark new interest from the younger generation.

* Unfortunately corn used for weaving is ridiculously expensive and hard to come by. We’ll have a little for people to touch and some really wonderful examples to pass around.

Due to restrictions on space pre-booking is essential.

These workshops are Pay What You Can with a suggested donation of £4 per person. Donations will go towards the running of the farm and the costs of the facilities.
