We are lucky enough to receive a large number of enquiries regarding young people who would like to complete their work experience for secondary school at the Farm. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer work experience placements for young people under 18 due to staff capacity. The only exception to this is those who are completing their Level 3 Animal Care course and need a placement through their college. These enquiries can go to ella@bathcityfarm.org.uk and she will be in touch. These slots are assigned in the summer for those starting placement in September.
For those completing their Duke of Edinburgh certificate and also looking to volunteer, we don’t run this as a stand alone programme at the moment. However, there is a youth club on Saturdays which carry out various tasks that can be signed off towards a DofE certificate. This is a popular paid for group so spaces fill up fast. More info on that here.
We are sorry that we can’t offer work experience at the moment and hope in the future to have something available for those young people enthusiastic to learn more about working with the land and with animals. For more info on programs aimed at young people, please read more here.
